I'm Anandha Padmanaban, 20 yrs old M from the southernmost tip of India also known as Nanjil nadu or Kanyakumari. I'm pursuing my final year degree in B.Sc. in hospitality & hotel administration at SRM University, Chennai. Everyone loves cooking the same as I do .Cooking is my hobby but now it has become my passion and career too.
So, as earlier said I was born in the place of Nanjil nadu which holds the Western ghats and the Triseas . I wasn't aware about Nanjil nadu cuisine when I was young and many of my local people too hadn't been aware about the Nanjil nadu cuisine . Yes, finally we forgot our very own authentic cuisine. I love exploring new destinations. So, I used to roam with my friends on summer vacations and later we started exploring local foods from the places wherever we have gone. My papa also used to take me out of my district like a tour or trip. We used to have food in many restaurants over there. I wasn't able to find my hometown's taste in those restaurants. I wondered if many of the dishes were not on the outskirts of Kanyakumari. I terribly had a confusion that we all belong to the same Tamil Nadu state but why our food culture is quite different from our Neighbouring district's food cultures. So, I took this confusion to my granny and asked her. Suddenly, she burst into laughter with her toothless mouth and said, “Kanna we were once ruled by Kerala kingdoms. At those times, our food habits were changed. Our dishes became quite similar to the Kerala cuisines and our cuisine was named as "Nanjil nadu "cuisine. This increased my curiosity to find out the Speciality in those particular cuisines. So I decided to take a hotel administration course as my career to get answers for my search beyond the Nanjil nadu cuisine. Laterly, I came to know that Nanjil nadu cuisine is at its end because the cuisine's own people also forgot about it and the sad fact is none of the restaurants in India gives importance to this cuisine and still the name of this cuisine is not remembered by many of the people in south tip of India.
Studying about particular cuisine turns me to learn about all Indian and International cuisines.
So now I decided to share some of my Nanjil nadu recipes in my blog along with other Indian, continental, Chinese and some International cuisines..
